The City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning is overseeing the development of an industrial center at 9000 Airport Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. The project involves the demolition of 37,860 square feet of existing commercial and industrial space on an 18-acre site to make way for a modern industrial facility. There are two primary development options: Option 1 consists of a single building totaling 435,390 square feet with a maximum height of 50 feet, while Option 2 consists of three buildings totaling 410,056 square feet with a maximum height of 46 feet. Both options include a mix of warehouse and ancillary office uses, with parking provisions ranging from 274 to 369 vehicle spaces and 90 truck trailer spaces. The project is subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and a comprehensive Environmental Impact Report has been prepared to address air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, noise, energy consumption, and tribal cultural resources. Key requirements include the implementation of a Soil Management Plan for contaminated soils, adherence to ADA standards for pedestrian entrances, and compliance with the City of Los Angeles Protected Tree Ordinance. The project has received a will-serve letter from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for electric service and has been cleared by Caltrans regarding transportation impacts. A Notice of Determination was posted on August 3, 2026, confirming that the project will not have a significant environmental effect provided that mitigation measures and monitoring plans are followed.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO-15 CMOP division, is soliciting a construction contract for the decommissioning of the Leavenworth VA CMOP facility located at 5000 S 13th St, Leavenworth, KS. This project is a total set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) with an estimated construction magnitude between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The scope of work involves the disassembly, demolition, and disposal of Automated Prescription Fulfillment System (APFS) equipment, conveyors, and electrical systems, as well as general building repairs and the decommissioning of a central vacuum system. A key requirement includes providing 5,000 to 10,000 square feet of off-site storage near the Shawnee CMOP to facilitate federal equipment excessing procedures. The contract utilizes a Best Value Tradeoff source selection process, where non-price factors—including technical approach, construction experience, and staff qualifications—are significantly more important than price. The total performance period is 365 calendar days, though the government intends for the actual decommissioning to be completed within 60 days of the Notice to Proceed. Contractors must adhere to strict GSA guidelines for inventory and photography, as well as manufacturer standards for the packaging and palletization of electronic and robotic components to prevent damage. The response deadline is September 23, 2026, at 17:00 Central.
