The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to award a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to Aletheon Technologies for providing oversight and computational analysis support to the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Program. This contract involves modifying and delivering updates to Government-owned input decks used in Computational Shock Physics (CSP) codes, as well as performing code calculations with these modifications. Since the original input decks were developed by Aletheon personnel who have unique and essential experience and knowledge, Aletheon is considered the sole source qualified to perform this work. The contract will be effective for an initial duration of twelve months from the award date, with two additional twelve-month option periods available. This contract is being awarded under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), which recognizes that only one responsible source can meet the agency’s requirements.
