NOTICE OF CONTRACT ACTION FOR - Electronic, Optical, and Electro-Optical Materials Research. The proposed acquisition (reference BAA-06-01-PKM) is a follow-on effort to foster capabilities obtained under contracts F33615-00-C-5422 with University of Dayton Research Institute, and F33615-00-C-5402 with Wright State University for similar work.The objective of this program is to develop materials for Air Force electronic and optical applications. Advances made in the program are expected to lead to improved materials and devices for digital, microwave, infrared detector, opto-electronic, nonlinear optical and power generation applications. The range of materials to be investigated in this program includes bulk compound semiconductor materials, epitaxially engineered semiconductor materials, optical materials, and high-temperature superconducting materials. The government is anticipating an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract with Task Orders. It is anticipated that a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) providing more details into this program will be released on or about 17 Oct 2005 will be available at www.fedbizopps.gov and at http://www.wrs.afrl.af.mil/contract/.
