Under the authority of FAR 13.5, the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to University of California Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA to fabricate various nano particle incorporated composites at reasonable cost. UCLA is the only source of the temperature-controlled cryogenic grinder for sub-micron and nanometer size particles. Moreover, UCLA sufficiently demonstrated, through few programs for AFOSR, usage of this unique equipment successfully. Since this equipment is currently used and the part of this effort is the expansion of the current work with AFOSR, they are the only source of services for this program. The information and knowledge obtained from current efforts with AFOSR will be most effectively applied to this service agreement. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
