A -- Industry Day for the persistent unmanned maritime airborne surveillance capability scheduled for 2 May 2005 is cancelled and postponed until further notice

The planned Industry Day and subsequent one-on-one meetings focused on persistent unmanned maritime airborne surveillance capabilities, originally set for May 2, 2005, at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, have been postponed indefinitely due to a re-evaluation of the requirements for the projected Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). The Office managing this effort, PMA 263, remains committed to hosting the event and issuing the BAA to explore the integration and performance of unmanned aerial systems—such as the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance UAV, RQ-8B Fire Scout, and Tactical Control System—when operating alongside manned platforms like the P-8A maritime patrol aircraft, ACS, and MH-60R helicopters. The goal is to assess how these systems can collectively provide persistent and effective maritime surveillance capabilities. Interested parties who registered for the original event will be notified via email once new dates and times are set, and all are encouraged to monitor the FedBizOpps website for updates. The contract is managed by the Naval Air Systems Command within the Department of Defense, with points of contact available for further inquiries.
