The Naval Air Systems Command, under the Department of Defense, has awarded a contract for the AN/AAR-47 Hostile Fire Indicator Missile Warning System support. This acquisition, identified by solicitation number 20052-09, is valued at an estimated total of 44,457,500.00 dollars. The scope of work encompasses the procurement of sensors and computer processors, as well as the implementation of upgrades, software improvements, and depot repairs to support the US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Air Force, US Army, and various Foreign Military Sales cases. The contract was issued as a sole-source award to Alliant Techsystems Inc. (ATK) under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This non-competitive procurement was justified because the government does not possess the required technical data rights, and the contractor declined to sell a competitive data package. The place of performance for this effort is located in Clearwater, Florida, with administrative oversight managed from Patuxent River, Maryland.
