The contract consists of acquiring a series of aerial photos of the North Shore and Lower North Shore of the St. Lawrence River, in the province of Quebec. Acquisition will take place along pre-identified flight lines. The photos acquired along the flight lines will be added to the bank of images of the Quebec coast obtained since 2015 by DFO. They will be used to identify and describe eelgrass beds and increase knowledge of the coastal zone, an important ecosystem for several species in the St. Lawrence. The flights are scheduled to take place between July 22 and September 12/October 8, 2025, to coincide with the eelgrass growth period.
