Alternative Licensing Partnerships

Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools is inviting qualified partners to submit proposals for alternative licensure programs designed to rapidly prepare non-traditional and career-switching individuals to earn Tennessee teaching certification and become effective educators within MNPS classrooms. The initiative specifically targets high-need subject areas, aiming to address critical staffing gaps by providing accelerated, high-quality pathways that combine rigorous instruction, mentorship, and practical teaching experience. Applicants must demonstrate proven experience in delivering successful alternative licensing models and a strong track record of placing candidates into public school positions, particularly in underserved communities. Proposals are due by July 14, 2026, and must align with MNPS goals for educational equity and instructional excellence. The contract will be awarded to partners who can show scalability, cultural competency, and the ability to support candidates through certification and into long-term retention within the district. All program delivery must occur within Tennessee, and all candidates must meet state licensure requirements.
