Arioto-Cress New Pier (Lake Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. PLA- 65204-R2)

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has authorized Lee Arioto to construct a new residential pier on a lake under Lake Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number PLA-65204-R2, in compliance with Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code. The pier will extend approximately 114.6 feet from the shoreline, terminating in a 15-foot-wide by 45-foot-long pierhead, with an additional 4.33-foot concrete landing and steel steps at the end. An 8-foot-wide causeway will widen to 15 feet near the pierhead, and two adjustable catwalks, each 3 feet wide and 30 feet long, will provide access from the pierhead to the water’s edge. Eighteen steel hollow tube pilings, each 10-3/4 inches in diameter, will be driven into the lakebed to support the structure, including two specifically for the public access stairs that span the pier. As part of the project, 18 square feet of fish habitat enhancement is required, achieved by installing two clean gravel and cobble pyramids, each measuring 9 square feet, on the north and south sides of the pier to support aquatic life. The design and construction are limited to residential use, with no indication of commercial or public access beyond the specified stairs. The agreement is managed by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Region 2 – Northern Central, with Patrick Moeszinger serving as the primary contact and Lee Arioto listed as the applicant. The notification was posted on July 1, 2026, and the project is subject to the department’s oversight to ensure minimal environmental impact while complying with state regulations for lakebed alterations.
