Project, Utilities. Project Title: Bldg. 12 - Inspect Water Intake and Remove Zebra Mussels. Funding Source: CNIC Funded FY Requested: FY2027, Q3 Barracks/UH: No MWR Pool/Gym: No Project Details/SOW: Problem Statement: Previous inspections of the water intake revealed zebra mussels attached to the inside of the intake that need to be removed and sand inside the intake that needs to be monitored. Zebra mussels were last removed from the interior of the central intake in the summer of 2024. The intake was last inspected in summer of 2025. This inspection is to determine if the presence of mussels is worse or the same as the 2025 inspection results, to monitor the level of sand in the intake and to remove zebra mussels from both the inside and outside of the intake line and crib structure. Location: GLMAIN-PW-SA-INTK. Proposed Solution: Issue a contract to 1) monitor and measure the zebra mussels inside the intake line 2) remove zebra mussels from the center intake pipe and crib and 3) video inspect 3-500’ sections the interior of the intake to monitor the presence of mussels and sand and 4) take cross section profile sonar measurements of the intake line to measure the amount of sand in the intake. Justification: Zebra mussels growth and sand can reduce the flow through the intake line. CRM Comments: No issues. In this instance, the proposed SOW is being performed on ordinary infrastructure EV NEPA comments: If L84, likely CatEx #8 - HRichtfort 9/19/25 RPM Comments: Approved. APM Comments: No issues, approved.
