Blue Heron Golf Course Grounds Maintenance Five Year Contract

The County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County are soliciting proposals for a five-year grounds maintenance contract at the Blue Heron Golf Course in Stevensville, Maryland, spanning from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2031. The selected contractor will be responsible for comprehensive turf care, including mowing, fertilizing, weed control, and aeration of tees, greens, fairways, and roughs, as well as bunker maintenance, light tree pruning, and the operation and repair of the irrigation system. The contractor must provide all necessary equipment and maintain the surrounds of the maintenance building, while the owner will provide the maintenance shop area and cover electrical costs for the irrigation system. Proposals will be evaluated based on price and experience, with a mandatory requirement that the contractor or their principal representatives possess at least six years of experience as a golf course superintendent. Submissions must be delivered in three paper-bound hard copies by December 1, 2026, and must include a qualification statement, fee summary, disclosure form, and SDAT registration. Special consideration may be given to local vendors who allocate 50 percent or more of the bid value to businesses within Queen Anne's County. Quality standards will be verified through monthly meetings, and any disputes regarding maintenance quality will be arbitrated by representatives from the University of Maryland's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
