BOILER REPLACEMENT AT VISITOR INTERPRETIVE CENTER

Paul Smith’s College of Arts and Sciences is soliciting bids for the removal and replacement of the existing boiler system at the Visitor Interpretive Center in Paul Smiths, New York. The project, which is partially funded by a New York State ZBGA Capital Grant, requires a qualified mechanical or HVAC contractor to perform the safe demolition and disposal of current boilers and associated components, followed by the installation of two high-efficiency, propane-fired 301,000 BTU boilers. The scope of work encompasses all necessary piping, controls, electrical modifications, venting, and safety components, as well as system commissioning, testing, staff training, and the delivery of all operation and maintenance manuals. The project must reach substantial completion by December 15, 2026. Bids must be submitted electronically as a single, consolidated PDF file to contracts@paulsmiths.edu no later than October 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST. The contract will be awarded to the lowest price responsive and responsible bidder. Qualified contractors must be authorized to do business in New York, registered with the Department of Labor, and possess all required licenses and insurance, naming the College as an additional insured. Submissions must include a detailed budget breakdown, a proposed work schedule, and various mandatory certifications, including non-collusive bidding, sexual harassment prevention, and gender-based violence workplace policies. The successful contractor will also be subject to prevailing wage laws and must provide monthly progress updates throughout the duration of the project.
