Full Description

The United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Infantry Weapons Systems, Quantico, Virginia intends to solicit on a Sole Source basis under the statutory authority permitting Other Than Full and Open Competition 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements to Platt Luggage Inc, 4051 West 51st Street, Chicago, Ill 60632-4294 for the following Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) items: 1. Case, Transport. Black Laser Guardsman, OD Green with foam. Platt ATA300. The case will hold one 1400 Pelican case along with one item that measures 50" long X 9" diameter and minor tool 16" X 4" diameter. Case interior will be lined with 2" Charcoal polyethylene foam on all sides. The case is not airtight/watertight. Case equipped with all recessed hardware: 5 handles, 5 latches, 4 recessed steel housing wheels, lid stays and piano hinge. Case ID: 58" X 25" X17"/Case O.D. 63" X 30" X 22" 2. Case, Pelican. P/N 1400WF. Case will be filled with cubed foam in case bottom and convoluted foam in the lid. Size: 12.25"L X 9.25W X 5.25D-I.D. Color Black. This contract will consist of initial issue provisioning of 35 Transport Cases and 35 Pelican cases. Platt Luggage, Inc. is the manufacturer and only known source of this product and is therefore the only source deemed qualified to provide this item. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 325211. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by submitting a white paper, technical data for the item, and past performance no later than 2:00 pm EST, 06 Aug 2009 to Commanding General, Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: IWS Earl Edmonds, 2200 Lester St., Quantico, VA 22134. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open basis is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
