Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Research Network

The Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Research Network is a forecast initiative managed by the Health Resources and Services Administration under the Department of Health and Human Services. The program aims to enhance the quality of life for children and youth with special health care needs, specifically those with medical complexity, and their families. This is to be achieved by establishing a robust research infrastructure designed to generate evidence-based solutions that promote lifelong thriving and full community participation. The primary focus of this infrastructure is to investigate and validate promising intervention approaches and measurement tools. Particular emphasis is placed on developing measures related to well-being and engagement, which can then be integrated into the essential services and supports required by these families.
