Codrington Fisheries Research Facility Construction Project

The Contract involves the construction and renovation of facilities at the Codrington Fisheries Research Facility to support a Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) for advanced temperature-controlled aquaculture research, including climate-related studies and the cultivation of non-traditional fish species. Work includes structural renovations to the existing Visitor Centre to accommodate effluent treatment systems from the new Research Centre, alongside new foundation construction featuring slab-on-grade elements, micropiles, and structural components. Below-grade plumbing, drainage, and HVAC systems are to be installed in both buildings, with the addition of heat pumps, HRVs, and ductwork. A new well system with a submersible pump and insulated buried water line will also be constructed. The Visitor Centre will be modified to include specialized drains and basins for effluent processing, while electrical upgrades encompass a new service connection, a backup generator with transfer switch, full electrical distribution for both structures, and underground wiring between buildings. All mechanical systems related to above-grade aquaculture tanks, RAS equipment, and associated plumbing are explicitly excluded from this contract, though their locations are indicated in provided drawings to assist with below-grade integration. The project requires compliance with Hydro One Service Contracts and all specifications outlined in the Contract Documents.
