The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-INY-60537-R6, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. The Project is limited to the construction of an approximately 120-foot-long by 16-foot-wide bioengineered bio-retaining wall that uses native and construction material to stabilize and reconstruct a portion of the Owens Riverbank. The bio-retaining wall will be constructed out of native, locally-sourced material including Bishop tuff, soil, coyote willow (Salix exigua) pole cuttings, and construction material including dead man anchors and a granular filter. The road atop the reconstructed bank will be repaired following construction of the bio-retaining wall.
