MLRP - Los Gatos Project

The Los Gatos Project is a multi-purpose groundwater recharge facility managed by the Westlands Water District in California. Located in Huron, the project aims to expand the district's capacity to improve local aquifers and support the sustainability objectives of the Westside Subbasin Groundwater Sustainability Plan. By increasing the available land for managed recharge, the facility will enable the region to better capture and store excess surface water and flood flows during wet years through the use of percolation basins. This initiative is currently listed as a forecast with a posted date of August 18, 2026. Stephen Farmer, the Chief Administrative Officer, serves as the primary point of contact for the project. The effort focuses on strengthening regional water security and enhancing the long-term sustainability of groundwater resources within the Westside Subbasin.
