This acquisition resulted in the award of a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contract for Design-Bid-Build (DBB) construction and was solicited as Full and Open on an Unrestricted basis. The MQ-9 MCE Group at Shaw Air Force Base, Sumter, SC will be comprised of two new buildings, a Headquarters Building and an OPS Building, which will house a multitude of various MQ-9 missions. These missions do not currently reside in a permanent facility at Shaw AFB but will be designed based on the Remote Piloted Aircraft (RPA) program and operation needs. Current RPA missions are being operated out of temporary facilities until these new facilities are built and operational. The associated site work includes facility mechanical equipment, generator equipment, trash enclosure along with 250 parking spaces and a space for two (2) Mobile Ground Control Station (MGCS) units. The complex will be focused around an exterior courtyard that promotes interaction amongst squadron personnel while allowing for a shared entry access point from the parking areas. The facilities designs will utilize the roof lines to create a visually integrated complex while establishing a strong Air Force Mission Presence.
