D -- Analysis, Development & Maintenance of Custom Designed Software Applications

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) aims to increase the level of effort under an existing contract for the analysis, development, and maintenance of approximately 16 custom-designed software applications. This contract is a continuation of work currently performed by the existing provider, whose extensive experience and familiarity with PBGC’s systems and policies position them as the preferred choice to handle the increased workload. The rise in demand is driven primarily by PBGC’s recent trusteeship over a number of pension plans, both small and large, which has created unforeseen pressures on the efficiency and responsiveness of its systems. Given the complexities of PBGC’s environment and the need for a seamless continuation to address growing operational demands, the agency believes it is in its best interest to maintain continuity with the current provider. However, the agency remains open to considering other responsible sources that can demonstrate their capabilities. The contract work is focused on sustaining and enhancing the functionality of key software applications that support PBGC’s mission in managing pension plan trusteeship responsibilities.
