The United States Transportation Command (USTC) is extending its current contract with Lockheed Martin Mission Systems (LMMS) for the Global Transportation Network (GTN) system for approximately twenty-eight months. This contract extension, executed by the AMC Contracting Flight at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, under sole source authority, ensures continued support and maintenance of the GTN system, which is vital for providing Intransit Visibility of passengers, cargo, and supplies throughout the Defense Transportation System (DTS). The scope of work includes addressing software deficiencies, upgrading and installing integrated commercial off-the-shelf products, updating system documentation, supporting government configuration management, software testing activities, software maintenance releases, as well as providing technical training and contingency support. Additional functional requirements include system administration, database management, help desk, and ITV cell support. This extension bridges the gap until the anticipated deployment of the follow-on system, GTN 21, which is currently in the source selection process with an expected award in August 2002 and planned fielding by May 2005. GTN 21 will replace the existing GTN system to enhance USTC’s operational capabilities. The AMC Contracting Flight serves as the administrative authority for this contract extension, with points of contact available for further inquiries. This effort maintains critical mission support functions essential for the ongoing operations of the Defense Transportation System.
