NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center released updated preliminary information regarding the Goddard Unified Enterprise Services and Technology (GUEST) initiative, following an initial Request for Information issued in September 2007. This update serves solely for planning purposes and is not a solicitation or commitment for contract award. The agency received over 70 industry responses to the original RFI and used the input to refine its requirements. The current draft of GUEST includes services such as Help Desk Support, Specialized System Administration, Back Office Services, Data Centers, Application Design and Sustaining Engineering, Network Design and Engineering, Information Security, and Integrated Configuration Management along with Business and Outreach Support. Certain aspects of the Helping to Optimize Enterprise Strategies for Transformation (HOEST) requirements that are not part of GUEST will be handled separately through existing contracts or separate vehicles. NASA plans to announce the formal procurement schedule for GUEST in January 2008. All related updates, future synopses, solicitation documents, and additional information will be posted under a new reference number on NASA’s Business Opportunities website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site and retrieving relevant materials themselves. The notice also designates an ombudsman to assist with the procurement process and directs questions to a specific NASA contact at the Goddard Space Flight Center. This effort reflects NASA’s move toward integrating and updating enterprise IT and communications services across the agency.
