09/12/2023 08:02:40 (PST) : Project repairs by replacement and rehabilitates the deteriorated water mains and associated valves and hydrants with new corrosion resistant water mains, fire hydrants and system valves at Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu and Laguna Peak. Repair high failure rate areas approximately 60,165 lineal feet of old, deteriorated cast iron and steel piping and associated fire hydrants and valves with new non-metallic piping. The distribution piping ranges from 4-inch to 18-inch in size. If this project is not provided, the intermittent interrupted delivery of adequate water supply and fire suppression water supporting critical mission will continue. In August 2020, increased monthly flushing to 2.6M gal/month to maintain water quality per State requirements. Water distribution system will increase disruption due respectively to tuberculation and deteriorated piping. NOV received April 2020 for elevated disinfectant byproduct due to poor water circulation. This project contributes to closing CAPGAP No. 281 with IR = 10 color RED.
