Soil erosion on the east side of the building has reached a point where there is no longer a secure path to service the mechanical equipment. The erosion has also started to impact the integrity of the foundations of the concrete pads for the equipment and the foundation for the exterior fire escape stairs. The fire escape stairs are metal and corrosion from the sea air has begun to deteriorate the condition of the metal. This project will correct the problem caused by the erosion and provide a stable surface to access the mechanical equipment and to prevent any damage to the equipment foundation pads. The project will also replace the exterior stairs to provide a safe egress from the building. Project requirement is to address the erosion occurring on the east side of Building 77.
