The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is seeking to identify potential sources capable of fulfilling a comprehensive signage project across the Capitol campus. This effort, requested by congressional leadership and the US Capitol Police, aims to replace existing signage to better assist the more than three million annual visitors. The updated signage will consolidate entrance signs, emphasize security and prohibited items with a clear hierarchy of information, and establish a unified aesthetic throughout the campus. The project is divided into four distinct task orders: design services to modify the concept signage package for the Senate jurisdiction, messaging development for each sign type by jurisdiction, creation of detailed shop drawings for each sign, and fabrication and installation of all signage at approximately 240 locations. This announcement is a sources sought notice rather than a solicitation, indicating that quotes are not currently being requested nor will a contract be awarded based on this posting. Prior government contract experience is not required to respond. Any information submitted will become government property without compensation or feedback. The AOC’s Office of the Chief Engineer has completed the programming phase and developed a concept package detailing the types, quantities, and locations of nine different sign types. Interested parties are encouraged to review the attached Request for Information and Draft Statement of Work to prepare for potential future solicitations. The contract effort is managed by the Acquisition & Material Management Division of the AOC and is based in Washington, DC.
