The Department of Homeland Security's Office of the Chief Procurement Officer is organizing an Industry Day event on December 3, 2008, at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. This full-day forum aims to enhance communication between DHS and industry representatives by sharing advanced acquisition plan information and discussing DHS requirements. The event seeks to foster increased competition and transparency regarding contracting and subcontracting opportunities, particularly encouraging participation from a wide range of firms, including large and small federal contractors as well as businesses from historically underrepresented groups such as Small Disadvantaged Businesses, 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran Businesses, Veteran Owned Businesses, and Women Owned Businesses. Attendance is limited to one representative per company due to space constraints, and the presentations will be made available via webcast, with access details provided on the conference website on the day of the event. Interested firms are encouraged to register online, and further information can be obtained by contacting the event coordinator, Bob Jeffers. The contracting officer for the event is E. Darlene Bullock, who can be reached for additional inquiries. This Industry Day under NAICS code 512110 is a strategic opportunity for industry participants to gain insight into DHS acquisition plans and engage directly with DHS procurement officials.
