Direct Potable Reuse Demonstration Facility

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking the procurement of specialized treatment equipment and the construction and operation of a new 10,000 square-foot Direct Potable Reuse Demonstration Facility. Located at the AK Warren Water Resource Facility in Carson, California, the project will occupy an existing paved area measuring approximately 155 feet by 65 feet. The primary objective of the facility is to collect operational data for process optimization and evaluate various treatment options to achieve regulatory acceptance for direct potable water reuse. This project is classified as a forecast under NAICS code 237990 and has been granted a Notice of Exemption from certain environmental fees and reviews due to the minor nature of the alterations and the focus on data collection.
