Delta and Echo fuel wharves are due for maintenance dredging. The water depths at Delta and Echo are progressively diminishing through sedimentation. wharves Delta and Echo situated within were constructed in 1946. The last recorded maintenance dredging occurred in 2010-2011. Since then, meteorological and hydrological events such as typhoons, strong waves and currents have led to the movement and accumulation of sediments at the bottom of Delta and Echo pier, thus, reducing the depth of the ocean water within the harbor. A hydrologic survey of the harbor was performed in 2010. Removed shoals and sediment from a point no closer than ten feet (10’) from the face of wharf to 200 feet outward using hydrolic dredge, to restore 45 feet of navigational depth. Need to get an ACOE permit as well as a NEPA/CATEX, SHPO consultation, endangered species, and possibly ever underwater MEC.
