The scope encompasses approximately 158,000 man-days of maintenance and 26,000 man-days of modernization, including critical work on the hull structure, propulsion plant, electric plant, command and surveillance systems, auxiliary systems, outfitting, and armament. Major modernization projects involve upgrades to the SSDG seawater piping system and the central fresh water system, while maintenance tasks include ballast tank preservation, structural repairs to decks and bulkheads, overhaul of ship’s service diesel generators, radar and mast replacements, non-skid surface restoration, and cargo/elevator repairs.
