Full Description
The project will seismically retrofit, rehabilitate, and widen the East Palm Canyon Drive Bridge over Palm Canyon Wash, along with upgrading the adjacent pedestrian bridge. It also includes a new traffic signal at East Palm Canyon Drive and Southridge Drive. Improvements span from 600 feet west to 1,700 feet east of the bridge, widening the roadway to provide standard lanes, bike‑lane shoulders, a center median, and a protected south‑side sidewalk, with approach restriping for better alignment and safety.
Construction will be staged to maintain one lane of traffic in each direction for the duration of the project, with short-term closures anticipated only during stage transitions. The bridge widening will occur on both sides of the existing structure.
