Economic Impact Study

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is seeking qualified firms or individuals to conduct a comprehensive economic impact study of the San Diego International Airport, designed to quantify and communicate the Airport’s full range of economic contributions to the region. The study must employ industry-standard methodologies and align with FAA guidance to ensure robust, defensible results that will be used to secure federal, state, and local funding, guide strategic planning and capital investment decisions, support master plan updates, and strengthen public and official advocacy efforts. It will also serve to benchmark the Airport’s performance against peer airports and regional transportation assets while meeting regulatory requirements for economic justification. Proposals must be submitted by September 9, 2026, and the solicitation number is 414376FC, with the request posted on August 10, 2026. There is no requirement for a bid bond. The work will be performed in California under the oversight of the Authority’s Procurement Department, with Erica Lopez serving as the primary point of contact. The detailed scope of work is outlined in Exhibit A of the draft contractor agreement included in the RFP, and respondents are expected to deliver a study that accurately captures the Airport’s role as an economic engine through credible data, transparent analysis, and clear reporting tailored to diverse stakeholders including elected officials, regulators, and the public.
