The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is seeking an exemption from the competitive procurement process for acquiring On-Demand Remote Interpreting services, including Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI), Video Remote Interpretation (VRI), and Document Translation. This exemption, if granted, would allow the agency to procure these services with limited or no competition, at the discretion of the Department of Administration (DOP) Administrator. To ensure transparency, the department is inviting suppliers to review the exemption request and submit relevant information that could support or challenge the claim that competitive bidding would be impractical or disadvantageous under the current circumstances. Suppliers can respond by attaching their information through the designated online portal or via email before the specified response deadline. The solicitation, titled "EFC - On-Demand Remote Interpreting," is posted with a response deadline of June 11, 2025, and involves a contract value estimated between $500,000 and $2,000,000. The procurement is managed under NAICS code 525120, and the contract will be executed within the state of Idaho. The primary point of contact is the DOP Administrator, accessible via email for further inquiries. The process emphasizes transparency and invites supplier participation to inform the decision regarding the exemption, although the final decision remains at the discretion of the DOP Administrator with no appeal rights for suppliers.
