The Florida Department of Management Services issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Electronic Data Processing Equipment Insurance, identified as solicitation number 24-84131512-ITB, with a posted date of May 8, 2024, and a response deadline of May 11, 2024. Only one bid was received from Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Inc., and because fewer than two responsive bids were submitted, the Department has decided to withdraw the solicitation and proceed with an exceptional purchase under section 287.057(6) of Florida Statutes. This process allows the Department to negotiate directly with the vendor to obtain the best terms and conditions for the State of Florida without conducting a full competitive procurement. This notice serves as the final posting regarding this ITB on the Vendor Information Portal and clarifies that it is not an award but a legal exception to the usual competitive bidding process. The Department emphasizes the importance of timely protests, which must be filed within the statutory period and in accordance with Florida law, with specific instructions provided for submitting protests. The contract involves insurance services for electronic equipment, with the procurement managed by the Florida Department of Management Services, Office of the General Counsel, and the primary contact being the Agency Clerk. Further details about the solicitation can be accessed through the provided online link.
