Embarcadero Plaza and Sue Bierman Park Improvement Project

The Embarcadero Plaza and Sue Bierman Park Improvement Project is a forecast initiative by the City and County of San Francisco to unify two adjacent public spaces into a single five-acre park at the foot of Market Street. Located within the waterfront gateway near the Ferry Building and Hyatt Regency, the project aims to enhance accessibility, safety, and programming while reconnecting the urban space to the Bay. The scope of work includes the installation of a multi-purpose event lawn, a performance stage, an enclosed dog play area, and outdoor fitness stations. Additionally, the project will implement stormwater gardens, expanded seating and picnic areas, interpretive signage, and improved circulation, while maintaining the existing playground. To strengthen ecological resilience and stormwater management, the project will utilize native and adaptive plantings.
