AI Contract Overview

The National Guard Bureau initially planned to award multiple contracts from this solicitation, including one specifically for environmental work at the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR). However, due to changes in government requirements and the need to maintain operational continuity while meeting EPA-mandated deadlines, the scope and funding for the MMR contract were significantly altered, leading to the cancellation of the specific award for that location. Responsibility for managing contracts related to environmental work at MMR has since shifted to the Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, which will oversee all future contracting opportunities. This transition means that any future environmental engineering, professional and technical support, and remediation services related to MMR will be procured and advertised by the Army Corps of Engineers through FedBizOpps, ensuring that interested contractors can participate in upcoming opportunities. The original solicitation was issued by the Department of Defense's National Guard Readiness Center and focused on environmental support services, but with the transfer of contract responsibility, the procurement process for MMR-related projects is now centralized under the Army Corps of Engineers for greater oversight and continuity.

General Info

National Guard canceled MMR environmental contract; Army Corps now manages and advertises future contracts.

Full Description

NA The National Guard Bureau (NGB) contemplated multiple awards from this solicitation, among them the award of a contract specifically for work at the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR). Because of changes to the Government's requirements, an amendmen t will be made to the solicitation and the award of a contract for work specifically at MMR will not be made. Essential continuity of operations and compliance with deadlines imposed by EPA Administrative Order(s), led to the reallocation of program funds . This has resulted in a significant change in scope of the contemplated MMR contract. Secondly, there has been a transfer of contract responsibility to the Army Corps of Engineers, New England District. As primary contract support agent, it will be thei r responsibility to establish contracts for all future environmental work at MMR. Future Army Corps of Engineers procurement opportunities will be advertised in FedBizOpps and all interested parties will have an opportunity to participate in contract opp ortunities at MMR.
