Extension of BPA Contract

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), representing the Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence and Space (PEO C4I and Space), plans to extend the existing Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with Dell Marketing L.P. for the procurement of workstations, laptops, and printers. This equipment supports both classified and unclassified C4I networks for the U.S. Navy, both afloat and ashore. The extension covers the period from October 1, 2005, through March 31, 2006, and is issued as a sole-source agreement to Dell, serving as a temporary measure to maintain continuous support while a competitive solicitation is prepared. This extension acts as a “bridge” contract, allowing time to conduct a competitive procurement during the first quarter of fiscal year 2006 for similar hardware items. The Department of Defense intends to release the competitive solicitation in the third quarter of 2005 to select a follow-on contract. This action ensures uninterrupted delivery of critical hardware for Navy C4I operations while maintaining procurement continuity.
