The Department of Defense, through the Test Resource Management Center, is organizing the first workshop for the Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM) Test Infrastructure Requirements Study (ITIRS) from August 29 to 31, 2006, in Chicago, Illinois. This study, part of the Central Test and Evaluation Investment Program, aims to develop a roadmap for enhancing IRCM test infrastructure to keep pace with the evolving technology of IRCM systems and heat-seeking missiles. The workshop will gather representatives from organizations involved in IRCM system development or test design, focusing on gathering insights regarding future test plan use cases to establish a solid baseline for the roadmap. Key topics include defining drivers, use cases, architecture, test concepts, and sample test plans. Attendance is restricted and no registration fee applies; participants are encouraged to register by August 4. The event will be unclassified and held at the W Lakeshore Hotel, with detailed information available online. A follow-up workshop is scheduled for around March 2007, emphasizing IRCM test infrastructure and involving those responsible for test resources or conducting active IRCM testing. The goal of both workshops is to facilitate an exchange of current capabilities, plans, challenges, and best practices to develop a comprehensive IRCM test infrastructure that meets Department of Defense requirements. All inquiries or registration questions should be directed to Leslie Morgan, the designated point of contact, and not to other individuals such as Sherri Comer.
