By means of the RFP, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is seeking proposals to complete an Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) Class 5 cost estimate for a 4 MMTPY steelmaking facility which utilizes CE-O’s Flash Metallization technology to achieve iron ore reduction. This will include estimates of all capital and operating expenses as well as include similar analyses for conventional Direct Reduced Iron and Blast Furnace facilities of equivalent scale. These estimates will be provided in a report which also assesses the sensitivity of all three facilities to changing market conditions and determines the overall competitiveness of Flash Metallization steelmaking technology.
