Forestry and Parks - Request for Quotes - Fish Creek East Shop Maintenance Yard Seacan Installation

PROJECT OBJECTIVE: The primary objective of the project is to eliminate the immediate life-safety and operational risks associated with the structurally deficient Red Barn at Bow Valley Ranch by providing safe, secure, and suitable replacement storage and operational space at the East Shop Maintenance Yard in Fish Creek Provincial Park. The project will support the required vacating, decommissioning, and demolition of the Fish Creek Provincial Park Red Barn, while maintaining continuity of Alberta Forestry and Parks (AFP) operations and minimizing disruption to park stakeholders. This will be achieved through the supply and installation of a new 40 ft. × 24 ft. modular Seacan storage facility, including a compacted granular foundation, precast supports, electrical servicing from the existing Cold Storage Building, and associated building systems, together with improvements to the Cold Storage Building including insulation and natural gas-fired infrared tube heating. The completed facility will provide secure, weather-resistant, year-round storage for AFP operational equipment. The project will provide a complete, functional, and durable replacement storage solution that enables the Fish Creek Provincial Park Red Barn to be safely secured, demolished, and removed while preserving essential park operations.
As a precondition to contract award, and before the Contract will be signed, the prime Contractor must provide a valid standard Certificate of Recognition (COR), or a valid Temporary Letter of Certification (TLC) for a standard COR, or a COR Equivalency Letter (COREL) for out of province Proponents, as issued by Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) or another certifying partner authorized by Alberta Ministry of Skilled Trades and Professions to issue CORs, TLCs, CORELs or Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR).
