The project proposes relocating an existing non-compliant precast vault restroom from the day-use area to Doe Flat Group Campground in Fremont Peak State Park to address accessibility compliance and equal facilitation for visitors with disabilities. One (1) accessible sized portable chemical toilet will be permanently located on a concrete pad adjacent to the precast vault restroom and one (1) concrete Van Accessible parking stall will be constructed to facilitate a level surface for parking and approach to the restrooms with a concrete route of travel constructed to connect the buildings to parking. In the group campground work will:
To Install the Precast Vault Restroom
Use equipment to excavate a 11 foot long by 11 foot wide by 6 foot deep area;
Install a layer of road base or similar aggregate at the bottom of the excavation to create a level installation surface; and
Use a crane truck to remove the vault restroom from the current location in the day use area and place the vault restroom into the excavated area within the group campground.
For the Accessible Sized Portable Chemical Toilet
Use equipment to excavate a 10 feet by 10 feet by approximately 12 inches deep area and pour concrete to create a level surface; and
Use equipment to install a 7 foot by 7 foot accessible sized portable chemical toilet on the concrete pad
For the Parking and Travel Path
Use equipment to excavate an approx. 20 foot by 22 foot by 12 inch deep area and install 6 inches of base rock followed by 6 inches of reinforced concrete to create a level parking surface;
Use equipment to excavate an approx. 7 foot wide by 26 foot long by 12 inch deep area to create a path from the parking to the restrooms;
Use equipment to install 6 inches of base rock followed by 6 inches of reinforced concrete and create a level path of travel;
Install truncated domes between the travel route and the parking area; and
Installed boulders between the travel route and the parking area to act as dividers.
