The proposed project would install and operate one new stream gage on the southeast corner of Dead Horse Island to collect data on water elevations and quality in Dead Horse Cut. The stream gage data would be uploaded to the California Data Exchange Center where it would be accessible to the public. The proposed stream gage would include an enclosure with solar panels mounted on two two-inch galvanized steel pipes with concrete footings. The enclosure would be installed on the Dead Horse Island's southeast levee. A sonde transmitter and bubbler line would run down the waterside levee slope to Dead Horse Cut. The sonde transmitter line would be enclosed in a steel pipe fastened above ground on the levee slope. The project would involve minor trenching and backfilling on the levee which is a disturbed area.
