Plant F20 Reservoirs Project

The Plant F20 Reservoirs Project, led by the State Water Resources Control Board for the San Gabriel Valley Water Company, involves the construction and operation of two new 1.28-million-gallon welded steel potable water reservoirs, designated as the East and West Reservoirs, in Fontana, California. Each tank will measure 74 feet in diameter and 40 feet in height. The project is designed to meet domestic usage, fire suppression, and emergency water storage demands for the City of Fontana. Associated site work includes the installation of a retaining wall system ranging from 1 to 26 feet in height to create a level pad, as well as new pipelines, pavement improvements, block walls, and wrought iron fencing. The project is subject to comprehensive environmental compliance under the California Environmental Quality Act, with a Mitigated Negative Declaration issued to address air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, noise, biological resources, and energy consumption. Technical assessments have confirmed that the project will have less than significant impacts on transportation, cultural resources, and air quality. Construction must adhere to the California Building Code, OSHA, American Water Works Association standards, and CALGreen requirements. Site management includes a storm water detention system with a capacity of 6,929 cubic feet and strict adherence to hazardous material storage and labeling standards.
