This project consists of replacing the deteriorated fiberglass filter troughs at CDMWTP with new stainless steel troughs and rehabilitating Corona Reservoir by removing the deteriorating interior liner, replacing join sealant, repairing concrete cracking and palling, replacing the entry ladder, and addressing a suspected minor floor leak. The filter troughs, in service since 1974, have deteriorated due to continuous exposure to water, sunlight and treatment chemicals. Replacement will improve filter reliability, particularly during outages, and ensure uninterrupted treatment. Rehabilitation of Corona Reservoir will preserve a critical storage facility and sustain reliable water service. Without this work, continued deterioration could impact water quality, create safety hazards, or force an emergency shutdown.
