Guardrail Service for the Street Department

The City of Jackson, Tennessee, is soliciting sealed bids under ITB 27-12 for a yearly contract to provide all material and labor required for the purchase, repair, and installation of guardrails on an as-needed basis within city limits. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of W-Beam, Thrie Rail, Box Beam, and Weak Post Systems, as well as terminal anchors and miscellaneous hardware. All work must adhere to current NCHRP 350 Test Level 3 requirements, OSHA/TOSHA safety standards, and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for work zone marking. The contract is based on unit prices, and the award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The contract term is for one year from the award date. Standard repairs must typically begin within 14 calendar days of notification, while emergency repairs involving major public hazards must commence within two calendar days. Bidders are required to submit one original signed copy of their bid, including notarized affidavits and a current insurance certificate naming the City of Jackson as an additional insured for general and automobile liability. Compliance certifications regarding conflict of interest, drug-free workplaces, the Iran Divestment Act, and Affirmative Action plans are mandatory. Invoices are processed by the city accounting department every Thursday, and final acceptance of work is at the sole discretion of the City of Jackson.
