Hubbard Park Pool Filtration System

The City of Meriden is soliciting bids for the complete refurbishment of the filtration system at the Hubbard Park community pool located at 999 West Main Street, Meriden, Connecticut. The project requires the removal of the existing system and installation of a new high-performance filtration setup, including a 680 gpm pump and strainer, high-pressure sand filters, 10” and 8” PVC piping with strict hydraulic velocity limits, manual stainless steel valves, and full reconnection of sanitation systems. Each bid must include a bid bond equal to 10% of the bid amount, a sworn non-collusion statement, a surety guaranty, a completed bidder qualification statement, and, if applicable, a “Request for Status as a Meriden Based Business” form to qualify for a 10% price preference. Contractors must hold valid Connecticut licenses as a Pool Builder, Pool Plumber, and Home Improvement Contractor. The City will evaluate proposals based on responsiveness to specifications, local business status, incumbency, previous multi-item awards, and Connecticut residency, using a best-value trade-off approach rather than lowest-price technically acceptable. The contract is firm-fixed-price, with payment terms requiring completion of work before payment, which will be issued no sooner than 30 days after acceptance.
