AI Contract Overview

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has issued a notice of intended decision to award a single source contract to Idemia Identity & Security USA LLC for the procurement of Idemia LiveScan Iris Capture TD200 devices. With a total contract value of 58,000 dollars, this acquisition supports a pilot program designed to enable local criminal justice agencies across Florida to electronically collect and submit iris data. This initiative aligns with FDLE's statutory role as the state's central criminal justice information repository under Section 943.051, F.S. The procurement is being conducted as a single source action pursuant to Florida Statute 287.057 because the Idemia IRIS capture devices are the only hardware compatible with the agency's existing Idemia Livescan systems. Additionally, the award is justified by the fact that Idemia has no authorized resellers, requiring a direct purchase from the manufacturer. The project is managed by the FDLE Office of General Services, with primary purchasing contact Greer Hannigan.
