Illana Pond Spillway Improvements (Project) (Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-MEN-59015-R1C)

The Illana Pond Spillway Improvements project, associated with Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration No. EPIMS-MEN-59015-R1C, involves critical infrastructure enhancements to an existing on-stream pond located in the North Fork Noyo River watershed in Mendocino County, California. Situated approximately 8 miles northwest of Willits, the project is approved by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and is being carried out by permittee Guillermo Illana. The work is classified as a categorical exemption under Class 1 of the California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15301, as it focuses on repair and maintenance with negligible expansion of use. The technical scope of work is limited to one encroachment and consists of the excavation of material from the existing spillway followed by the installation of a riprap spillway measuring 6 feet wide, 2 feet deep, and 10 feet long.
