AI Contract Overview

The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division is issuing a sole-source, Firm Fixed Price contract modification to Tactical Air Operations, Inc. under contract N61339-06-D-0005. This action provides turnkey instructional support for Static Line and Free Fall parachute training in San Diego, California, for the Naval Special Warfare Advanced Training Command. The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary instructors, course materials, equipment, and facilities to ensure uninterrupted training services while the government develops a strategy to competitively solicit the full scope of the requirement. This modification increases the total contract ceiling by 2,940,350.00 dollars, raising it from 11,040,000.00 dollars to 13,980,350.00 dollars. The decision to utilize a sole-source award is justified under FAR 6.302-1, as the government determined that awarding the contract to any other source would result in substantial duplication of costs that would not be recovered through competition. The procurement is categorized under NAICS code 611699 and is managed by the Department of Defense.
