Intent to Procure Sole Source

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Seven Hills Homeless Shelter to provide community-based residential care for veterans enrolled in the Substance Abuse Treatment Program. The care facility is to be located within 30 miles of the VA Medical Center at 1100 N. College Ave., Fayetteville. The Government asserts that only Seven Hills Homeless Shelter can fulfill the specific requirements of this service and plans to proceed under the authority of FAR 6.302, which allows for non-competitive negotiation when only one source is deemed capable. Interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to express their interest and capability in writing by October 24, 2003, though no formal solicitation will be issued. The responses will solely determine whether the procurement should be opened to competition, with the Government retaining full discretion to proceed with sole source negotiations. All inquiries must be submitted in writing, as phone inquiries will not be accepted, and responses received after the deadline will not be considered.
