Full Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit a quotation from, and issue a base + (4) four options sole source contract to Pitney Bowes Inc., (DUNS: 001161793). The requirement for the purchase of onsite preventative and remedial maintenance of the following Pitney Bowes mail processing equipment and related hardware/software, which is currently owned by the Veterans Benefits Administration - Cleveland Regional Office: Equipment Model Number Serial Number VA Owned or Rented Softguard for the DM1100 SF00 0168035 VA PROPERTY DM110 WOW Base DW20 0001326 VA PROPERTY 70/149 LB Weighing Platform MP49 0022463 VA PROPERTY Vertical Power Stacker DIVS 2002120 VA PROPERTY Power Stack U7PS 2004976 VA PROPERTY DI500/600 Inserter B L NX01 1100448 VA PROPERTY DI500/600 Inserter BR NX02 2200561 VA PROPERTY DA80F WF81 2200159 VA PROPERTY Smartmailer PC/WIN XP W546 0026647 VA PROPERTY PSD (Postal Security Device) 1M00 4271439 RENTAL Intellilink Subscription 1D00 0168035 RENTAL The requirement is for a maintenance agreement for all equipment cited above, to include rental of one (1) Postage Meter and Intellilink Subscription. Replacing or changing any of this equipment at this time could cause a disruption in the mail processing system, as well as additional costs for new equipment and time constraints. It is vital to have integrated continuity of services for this equipment with one vendor, as opposed to having multiple vendors maintain separate pieces of equipment, which may disrupt the overall workflow at our mailroom should there miscommunications or conflicts with different maintenance agreements. Vendors, especially small business vendors, that are authorized resellers of Pitney Bowes equipment and maintenance and who can provide proof of reseller authorization/authorization to service equipment from Pitney Bowes and rent exact model/serial number of postage meters above, are invited to submit information establishing a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. If the Department of Veterans Affairs does not identify other acceptable sources capable of providing this requirement, we will solicit a quotation and issue a sole source award to Pitney Bowes as intended. This is not a Request for Quotations and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government's Contracting Officer. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses are due by 10:00am Eastern Standard Time (EST), Friday, November 29, 2013 and should be sent via e-mail only to Christopher Humphrey, Contract Specialist, at contact@example.gov.
