The US Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source contract with GE Energy Control Solutions, Inc. for spare parts related to the Governor's and Atlas controllers at Carter's Pumped Storage Facility in Chatsworth, Georgia. These controllers are proprietary to GE, and the parts are essential to minimize unit downtime by addressing potential Governor-related issues. Due to a 12-week lead time for these components, the Government needs to maintain an on-hand inventory of parts including power supplies, relays, modules, motors, solenoids, and assemblies. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, which allows sole source acquisition. Although this notice is not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may still submit their capability and interest for consideration by February 24, 2012. The Government retains full discretion on whether to compete the requirement based on any responses received. Submission of information is to be directed via email to the designated contact, with no obligation for the Government to pay for or return any materials provided. The source selection and contract solicitation process is focused exclusively on proprietary spare parts necessary for maintaining operational readiness at the facility.
